Parent’s Evaluation of Developmental Status Test (PEDS)

This test is only available through participating pediatric offices. Please do not proceed unless your pediatrician is a provider. If your pediatrician is not a provider and you are interested in taking the test please contact Milestones Therapeutic Services.

Welcome to A NEW 10 minute Screening Test that you can take TODAY that will let you know how well your child is doing!

The specialists at Milestones Therapeutic Center are working together with your pediatricians to offer you a new, quick and easy way to identify children who may be having delays in their development or behavior.

By increasing the use of early developmental screening tools such as the PEDS, we can drastically improve the chances that your child’s delays will not go undetected or untreated.

Who Should Take the Test?

Any parent who wants to know more information about their child’s development or any parent who is concerned about their child’s development.

What is a Screening Test?

Screening tests are quick and easy tools used to separate the children who probably have delays in development, learning, and behavior from children who probably don't.

This test is for families who are wondering whether or not their child is having difficulties with learning, developing, and behaving. The PEDS screening test will identify those children who have risk factors associated with any of these developmental delays.

What areas of development are tested?
There are five main areas of development that are tested these are:
Gross Motor/Fine Motor
Speech and Language
Social Skills
Self Help
Adaptive Skills.
These are the main areas of development that affect a child’s overall learning ability and success.

Concerned about Autism?
1 in every 150 children are now being diagnosed with Autism
If your child is 18 months through 4 years of age and risk factors for autism surface during the screening test, you will be automatically directed to take the Modified Checklist of Autism in Toddlers (M-CHAT) test. The M-CHAT looks specifically for autism spectrum disorders (ASD). If the risk level on the M-CHAT is also high, the results you receive direct you to follow the process recommended by the American Academy of Neurology and will suggest the need for a range of developmental screens and additional testing by a team of specialist.

What if a Problem is Identified?
Don’t worry; upon completion of the test, if your child is identified as being at risk for a developmental or behavioral delay, you will be immediately connected to our team of specialists at Milestones Therapeutic Services. These specialists will tell you whether your child needs additional testing or not, what kind of testing is needed, and what services may be helpful.

Whether a problem is identified or not, your specialists at Milestones will be available to answer any questions you have about your test results, and give you direction about where to go and what to do.

The Facts:
Developmental and associated disabilities affect and estimated 17% of children in the United States…and less than 50% of these children are identified before starting school. These children may end up with significant learning difficulties that will result in poor school performance.

What does it cost?
The PEDS test with or without the MCHAT costs $9.95. Before you take the test, you will be directed to pay through the PayPal page. Once you have made your payment you will be directed to the screening test page where you will have instructions on how to take the test.
